Minimalist Bauhaus inspired sculpture in a clean New York studio

The Form &
The Bound.

Bridging the structural honesty of the Bauhaus movement with the restless energy of New York City.

Our Standard

How does a city as chaotic as New York find common ground with the rigid geometries of Weimar? At Formbound, we believe the answer lies in subtraction. We started in a small workshop in Queens, driven by a frustration with the disposable nature of modern home goods. We don't just sell objects; we curate companions for your living space.

Can an object be both silent and loud? Our selection criteria are ruthless. If a design doesn't serve a purpose or possess a silhouette that remains striking in low light, it doesn't belong here. We're looking for that specific tension between material weight and visual lightness.

“The mind is like an umbrella. It's most useful when open. But a house? A house is most useful when it is empty of the unnecessary.”

— Inspired by Walter Gropius

The Concrete Filter

Every piece we offer passes through the "NYC Longevity Test." We ask: Will this look as relevant in 2040 as it did in 1925? We don't do trends. We do tectonic shifts. Our goods are sourced from artisans who treat steel, glass, and wood as sacred elements of the human environment.

  • Structural integrity over ornamentation
  • Ethical labor through direct-to-artisan partnerships
  • Monochromatic palettes that respect your space's original character
